The School Advisory Groups, made up of governors and associate members, are an important part of our governing body and support and monitor the operation of each of our schools. You can link to each of their pages on this site from here
What's an Associate Member?
From the regulations:
3.8.1 Associate members are appointed as members of any committees established by the governing body. They are appointed for a period between one and four years and can be reappointed at the end of their term of office. Associate members are not governors and they are not recorded on the instrument. Associate members may be removed from office by the governing body at any time.
3.8.2 The voting rights of associate members are decided by the committee to which they are appointed, except that they may not vote on any resolution concerning, admissions, pupil discipline, election or appointment of governors, or the budget and financial commitments of the governing body. If the associate member was aged under 18 on the date of his or her appointment, they may not vote on any business transacted by the committee (regulation 22 of the Procedures Regulations refers).
Also: Associate Governors cannot form a majority of a committee or group |
