Each learner is entitled to:

 

·         A personalised learning programme which supports each pupil based upon his/her

§         personal development needs

·         Enjoyable learning experiences

·         Access to relevant, wide ranging qualifications

·         Opportunities to take part in residential learning experiences

·         Opportunities to take part in activities beyond the school day

·         Opportunities to extend learning through visits locally, nationally and internationally

 

This will be achieved through a learning experience which:

 

·         Is a partnership between the learner, home, the community and the Trust

·         Is based upon developing skills which equip learners to acquire knowledge and understanding

·         Serves the individual

·         Is broad and engaging

·         Will provide essential learning entitlement

·         Provides continuity and is not bound by phase

·         Draws upon the best expertise, experience and creativity of  teaching and support staff from all schools in the Trust

 

Learning will be organised:

 

·         Through a range of approaches including enquiry, active learning and practical learning

·         By matching readiness for learning to learning needs

·         By matching time allocated for learning to learning needs

·         By matching learning events to learning needs

·         Organized and managed in accordance with Research & Development groups across the Trust working towards an all age curriculum

 

How successful we are in achieving our aims will be measured by:

 

·         Improvement in achievement in formal qualifications

·         High standards of behaviour and attendance

·         Engagement of pupils in activities beyond the classroom

·         How learners progress into further and higher education, training and employment

·         Learners living healthy lifestyles

·         Learners making a positive contribution to the community beyond school

 

 

 

Aims for our Staff

 

We aim to give our staff:

 

  • The support which enables them to operate as excellent practitioners
  • Opportunities to enhance their careers, to take on additonal responsibility and to feel professionally rewarded
  • A system of performance management which encourages development through clear and achievable targets and rewards
  • A workload which is manageable and enables them to have the right work/life balance.

  

Aims for our Parents

 

We aim to give parents:

 

  • Opportunities to fully understand the education their children are receiving, to know how well they are performing and to know what they can do to support them
  • Opportunities to contribute to decisions about how to make the best provision for learners
  • Regular information about the activities of the Trust 
  • Our attention and response when they communicate to us their needs and the needs of their children.

Aims for our Community

 

We aim to provide for the wider community:

 

  • Information about the activities of the Trust and the opportunity to suggest how the activities of the Trust can be further improved
  • A programme of adult education which meets the needs of learners in our community
  • Recognition that all stakeholders in the Ashington Learning Partnership have a contribution to make to enhance the education, aspirations and futures of our learners.
